Ponmudi
Ponmudi is located 61 kms from Thiruvananthapuram City.
A peaceful resort tucked away in the dense environs, Ponmudi is located 915 m above seal level. Rich in flora and fauna, the hill station also has excellent trekking trails.
Munnar
Situated 55 km from Idukki town, at the confluence of three mountain streams-Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala, Munnar is a charming hill resort, 1600 m above sea level. Vast expanses of tea plantations and holiday facilities make this a popular hill station. The hillsides of Munnar are famous for Neelakurinji, an exotic flower which blooms once every twelve years. It is next expected to bloom in 2006 AD.
Munnar also has the highest peak in South India, Anamudi, over 2695 metres in height.. Anamudi is an ideal spot for trekking.
Mattupetty
Mattupetty is located 13 kms from Munnar, at a height of 1700 m. Mattupetty is famous for its highly specialized dairy farm - the Indo Swiss Livestock Project. Over a 100 varieties of high yielding cattle are reared here.
There is also a lake and a dam in Mattupety. The Kundala tea plantations and the Kundala lake are other attractions in the vicinity.
